Destiny 2 The Final Shape
Made for Bungie's Cosplay Cosmodrome 2024
To promote the launch of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, Bungie reached
out to me to create the new and unrevealed character Micah-10
The project deliverables included a selection of images, and a video showcasing the costume.
About the creation of this costume
The costume is made with 10 different fabrics, including both stretch and non-stretch pleathers, sports mesh, natural cottons, and custom digitally printed fabrics.
There are over 20 custom mixed paint colours used on this project, applied by both airbrush, and hand.
The forearm spikes are magnetically attached for both transport and safety. And allows for easy replacement in the event of damage.
The hand armour was printed in a semi flexible resin to allow for comfort and durability.
All the 3D modelling for this project was done in Blender and scaled to a digital mannequin of myself.
The foam and sewing patterns were created from a mix of both traditional methods and digitally from low poly versions of the models.
The hard surface pieces are a mix of FDM and MSLA 3D printing, as well as hand crafted EVA foam pieces.
The visor was vacuum formed from 1mm PETG plastic and dyed black and allows for vision similar to wearing sunglasses.
Cosplay Competition Entry 2024
In October 2024 I entered this costume in the PAX AUS Cosplay Central Crown Championships of Cosplay.
My entry included the addition of a new prop constructed from EVA foam but otherwise unchanged costume.
I placed 2nd overall in the competition.
Due to placing in this competition, the costume is now ineligible to be entered in another high level competition unless it undergoes significant upgrades or rebuilds.
